There's a particular medium that I never thought I'd love, but ever since I started using it I've been hooked. Then I talked about how I wanted to have a consistent style in [THIS] post, so I tried my hardest to stick with it. But, I've been playing around with this medium for the past few days and I think I've found a solution.
This medium that I'm talking about is my Prismacolor Col-Erase Colored Pencils. These colored pencils are thee best for sketching and I've been loving the outcome with my Doodleinas. I don't just use it as a base to get a rough sketch, I like the color and lines to show at my end result. I don't know, I just LOVE the look of it! And for some reason when I started using it, I was quite hesitant to use it with watercolor because I didn't want the watercolor to over power the Col-Erase colored pencils. I wanted all three mediums to show equally (watercolor, micron pens, and col-erase colored pencils) to give this really awesome look.
I personally love sketching my Doodleinas with these Col-Erase colored pencils more than graphite. For some reason, I make less mistakes with these colored pencils and I have the tendency to erase a lot when I sketch with graphite.
I've also played around with my food drawings with this style, and I think it looks pretty awesome as well.
I'm definitely going to play around with it more and see if I can really stick to this particular style. To be honest, it kind of bugs me that my style hasn't been very consistent on my YouTube but, hey...this is a process. Finding a style that I truly love. I mean, it took me more than 20 something years to get to this point and I'm still learning and experimenting with new ideas! :)
By the way, that landscape watercolor color sketchbook above was a Christmas gift from my brother & his girlfriend and I've been loving it. I've officially made it my Doodleina sketchbook! :D
