It definitely doesn't feel like winter here in SoCal! Yesterday, I hung out with my friend and we decided to spend the beautiful afternoon at Balboa Park. My eyes were gleaming from all the beautiful plants. Of course as an SD resident, I've been to Balboa Park many times. No matter what day I decide to go, it's always filled with tourists, kids on field trips and just fellow San Diegans soaking up the beautiful scenery. It's definitely something I'll never get tired of.
I love it when the Botanical Garden is open because once you walk in, the air is so fresh that it instantly makes you smile.
Now, the main reason why we wanted to visit Balboa Park is because MOPA (Museum of Photographic Arts) was free that Tuesday. I haven't been since college and MOPA just brought back all those great memories from when I had B&W Photography class.
After MOPA, we went across the bridge and looked around the Old Cactus Garden. I didn't realize how big it was! There was this whole section I never knew about and even in the heat and blisters I got from wearing my flats (bad decision, Char), that didn't stop us from seeing all of this:
I seriously wanted to take this whole succulent garden home with me, it was just way too perfect!! The colors were stunning.
Yesterday really made me realize how much of a hermit I truly am. I've lived in San Diego my whole life, yet there's SO much that I have yet to explore.
I'm going to make it a point to go out more and learn more about my city so that it can spark more inspiration and ideas for me. I'm so glad I went out yesterday, because it really lifted my spirits up. I can't wait for more adventures!
